LGBTQIA

You’ve always felt a bit different.

Like a stranger in a strange land, it’s easy to feel out of place, even when doing something totally normal.

Just being out in public can bring on the anxiety. A tension in the chest. A constant monitoring. Don’t draw attention, keep your head down, in and out, then we can get back home.

When you are alone, you feel safe.

You might have an inner-circle, some friends or family that appreciate you just how you are. They see your uniqueness and love you for it. They celebrate your gifts, but despite their praise you still end up feeling alone.

It can feel like you are just waiting to be found out – and if you’re discovered, you’ll be attacked.

Despite your best efforts to conform or stay hidden, your heart continues to rebel. It knows something about the world, something about you! Your heart won’t be denied.

You deny your heart…

…deny yourself, and wind up feeling miserable.

The world can be a scary place. We live in an increasingly hostile environment for people who do not fit into the easy categories of gender or sexuality. It can be so very tempting to hide, and I will not judge you for hiding.

But your heart needs your uniqueness. You deserve to celebrate your truth.

Let’s find a way to embrace the gifts of your identity together. Let’s make friends with the shame and fear that got stuck on you by a hostile culture and help you find the spaces and relationships where you can be totally at ease.

I remember elementary school soccer practices, in which I spent the whole game dancing in a corner of the field, pretending to be an ice fairy. Holding that memory I feel both embarrassed and an enormous wave of love for that uninhibited, fantastic little kid.

Let me help you.

Let me help you reclaim your heart with honesty, love, and gratitude for your whole person.

You deserve a vibrant and colorful life. To express yourself fully and to have that expression be deeply satisfying.

Let’s color outside of the lines.
